in the US the national guard are known as 'weekend warriors' to the active duty troops because they are literally 'normal' civilians that larp as military a few weekends a year.
i have all kinds of horror stories from those fruits and the stupid shit they did when i was active duty.

They're essentially trying to paint the entire 'right' as racist domestic terrorists. It's a huge number of people and the result is going to depend on whether they can keep their enforcers in line (most police and active duty military are rightwing) and whether they can break up the dissenters into manageable groups. That's probably the main reason for the social media rampages.
If they succeed it's going to be a hardcore naked police state, if they fail it's going to be utter chaos -

is that actually true? I read somewhere that the national guard were called up from multiple states by the army at the request of the incoming government, but there are still plenty of people convinced they're reporting to Trump
