2020-11-03 at 5:48 AM UTC in US election is overshadowing major Islamic unrest in EuropeI don't really have the attention span for a proper rundown at the moment, but there seems to be a lot going on that's getting less attention because of the Old Man Open 2020:
1. French beheading. After a teacher in France got a real close shave, Macron unexpectedly dropped the hammer on Islamic (see: Turkish) groups in the country. He appears to be the only, or at least the first European leader not to back down or accept responsibility for 'provoking' such attacks. What's less reported is that a memorial was held for the victim at the school, and it was attacked by people with petrol, acid and apparently other chemicals.
2. Austria is still trying to clean up a co-ordinated attack where several of them apparently opened fire in a predominately J'ewish neighbourhood in Vienna. Turks and Chechens according to early information, killed 7 injured 15. It's possibly the prelude to a wider attack, and not all of the initial attackers have presently been found.
3. Turks are starting to chimp out hard due to new regulations stemming from 1> - specifically banning hard-right nationalist groups like the Iron Wolves (why the fuck weren't they banned previously? they fought in Syria against anyone Turkey didn't like and have been a proscribed terrorist group longer than that).
It looks like Austria and France might actually start moving toward the other more 'nationalist' European countries - it's absurd how countries like Germany and Austria have allowed Turkey to create huge foreign communities that are wholly adherent to Turkish interests over domestic, insofar as they feel it's both a necessity and a right for Turkish political candidates to campaign there. I've seen reports that the Chinese government has recommended that the Europeans 'put them all in camps' but it's hard to tell what's serious and what's not -

look into their telemetry systems; there was even a stage a few years back when they were silently linking them (essentially spyware that sends usage data back to MS) into any application you compiled in Visual Studio but they stopped when people realised and complained. I have no doubt they're just going about it another way now.
it's absurd to expect any level of trust or reliability, though more and more that also extends to hardware nowadays. -

- one kid was an uber-low rank with zero authority yet his family was rich and would sent 'presents' to him and his friends.
- i knew personally a high ranking admiral who came from a piss-poor family with zero connection resources to business or elected officials, and literally didnt even have a high school diploma, but was intelligent and a uber-high achiever so he went from a shit-tier enlisted job to mulitple-star admiral.
Anybody who claims that Fin soley spams these forums, continues to ignore/disregard posts like ^^^these. -

It's so sad to lose someone so young, I'll send up prayers for those who were close to him.
Just a side note: given the pain in the leg it sounds like possibly a blood clot may have broke lose and went to the heart. It's pretty instant and often not detectable. -

Yup, no trouble getting through the vote tracking with just name, DOB and address. I had to give my SSN to sign up in the first place though. Welp. Contacting my county election office tomorrow.
If it requires SSN to register, why would it not require it to track your ballot and change you registration? I mean come on man. Basic failure to implement legally mandated safeguards. -

The short version is that in several US states, you can log into online vote systems using only a person's name and date of birth, and from there you can update their personal information such as address and party affiliation. You can request a 'replacement' ballot which can either be sent out to an address or filled in online, which will invalidate any ballot that person has previously received (if they have already cast a vote, it will not be affected).

The page says the option is only available to military, overseas, or disabled voters, but there doesn’t seem to be any verification that would prevent other voters from using it and thus potentially invalidate any other ballot they were previously issued.

Interestingly there have been stories in the past of people claiming their party affiliation had been changed (which in effect invalidates their votes for party primaries), but it's typically been dismissed as either them being idiots or a fault in the systems, ie.

With the sheer amount of personal information people make public online, it'd be entirely possible to scrape enough sets of details (basically just name and DOB) to cause havoc in swing states... And that's not even considering data aggregators like Pipl, i360 and whatever else. -
