   Typically they'll have planes in the air to intercept but I didn't see any of that; either they moved the bulk of the air force out of the country (I heard a lot were moved to Jordan temporarily) or there wasn't enough time and they were kept in protected positions/destroyed on the ground. There are a lot of rumours about aircraft losses given the primary targets were airbases but no actual confirmation.
   
   In this case they would've had to have relied on naval interception from allies and the more advanced ARROW and DAVID'S SLING complexes but I just looked it up and they only officially have 2x batteries of each which is nowhere near enough to deal with such a massive number of missiles even if they were as accurate as advertised.

   
   i read that its normal procedure of any airforce to send their planes into the air durimg an attack as thats the best way to minimize lost during a ground attack.
