Originally posted by infinityshock its psychological. the risk for making a video for no other reason than to post on here doesnt provide the psychological reward or motivation. if i were going out with my girl, as when i took it into the water for her to do her strip show, that'd be a different story. i have a range of cameras from a 2004-vintage sony that still works (due to replacing the lithium battery on a regular basis)…to a sony action camera with a fully submersible case designed for scuba that cost about $600 that i rarely use because it has no display and is a pain in the dick to use…to a shit-tier walmart special that cost like $200 that i drag around like a keychain…to the gopro that is in a pouch that i carry literally everywhere…to a canon professional camcorder that lives in a pelican case.
part of my 'cheapness' has to do with an OCD degree of not wasting anything. when i get rid of appliances or furniture i leave them out for someone to 'adopt'…when i dont like clothes anymore i give them to the goodwill…even grocery bags get reused in countless different re-purposes. the only time i throw anything out is if it is totally useless. i know people…and ex-gf was the worst…who would get tired of something then just throw it in the trash can. she called the trash-pickup company to come collect a $2,000 bedroom set that was 18 months old and could have sold for at LEAST $600. so even if i had a cheap camera, which i consider my old-old cell phone that i use for the least important video, such as when i went kayaking, i'd still not want to be wasteful with it.
i have a full harness that mounts a camera on my chest, shoulder, or waist that ive used for different things. paintball…4-wheeling…biking…etc. i have another mount rated to magnetically affix to the outside metal surface of the plane i fly in that ill use some day.
I relate hard to this tbh. I also reuse containers and materials etc a lot, e.g. I have several "bag stuffed full of bundles of other bags" in my closets randomly cuz I don't just throw away a good plastic bag for no reason. They are just so darn handy. But also including... That you can just throw them away if you actually have to.
Although I'll toss cheap stuff that gets too filthy or broken to be worth cleaning or repairing vs replacing.the thing is, literally every time i have a camera mounted on anything i do (driving…playing…flying) nothing interesting at all happens and the footage is retardedly gay. its only when i dont have my camera out that anything does happen interesting.
Yea but that's why to capture interesting footage, it's key to build a habit of setting a recording almost all the time and then just dumping the uninteresting footage regularly until something exciting happens.
Rarely recording + something out of the ordinary happening means it'll be unlikely the two will overlap. But one can remove half that uncertainty by recording each session. Then if anything interesting ever does happen, you'll DEFINITELY catch it. -

2024-02-11 at 8:37 PM UTC in Chuck LeSqueak, The Great Mouse Detective### The Adventures of Chuck LeSqueak, The Great Mouse Detective
#### Episode 247: "The Mystery of the Whispering Gallery"
---
**Chapter 1: An Unusual Echo**
The city of London was draped in a dense fog as Chuck LeSqueak, the esteemed mouse detective, sat pensively in his cozy study. The flickering candlelight cast shadows that danced across the walls, filled with books of every conceivable subject. His mind, however, was far from relaxed; a peculiar case had piqued his interest.
News had reached his ears of a strange phenomenon at the Whispering Gallery. Visitors reported hearing whispers that foretold events yet to happen. Intrigued by the blend of mystery and science, Chuck set out into the chilly London night, his keen mind whirring with possibilities.
**Chapter 2: The Gallery's Secrets**
The Whispering Gallery, with its grand dome and stunning acoustics, was a marvel of architecture. As Chuck entered, his sensitive ears tuned to the faintest of sounds. The whispers were there, indeed — elusive, almost ethereal, yet distinctly ominous. They spoke of a looming threat over London, something hidden in the shadows.
Determined to decipher these cryptic messages, Chuck embarked on a meticulous investigation. He examined every inch of the gallery, hypothesizing that the unique structure might be capturing fragments of conversations from across the city, morphing them into these mysterious prophecies.
**Chapter 3: A Race Against Time**
Armed with a network of informants – pigeons, sparrows, and even the occasional street cat – Chuck began to piece together the puzzle. The whispers, he realized, were not supernatural but the result of an intricate plot to steal the Crown jediels. The “great danger” was a meticulously planned heist!
With time of the essence, Chuck and his loyal assistant, a sparrow named Watson, navigated the maze of London’s alleys and rooftops. Their journey was fraught with peril, but Chuck’s sharp wit and resourcefulness saw them through.
**Chapter 4: The Showdown at the Tower**
The Tower of London loomed ahead, its ancient stones holding secrets of their own. Chuck, with stealth and cunning, infiltrated the Tower. In the nick of time, he outsmarted the thieves, a gang of notorious rats, and safeguarded the jediels.
**Epilogue: The Whispering Hero**
Back in the quiet of his study, Chuck LeSqueak reflected on the case. He had turned an architectural quirk into a clue, averting a crisis that could have rocked the foundations of the British Empire.
As the first light of dawn broke over the city, Chuck, the great mouse detective, sat contentedly. London might never know the danger it had been in, but Chuck would always be there, a silent guardian in the shadows, ever ready for the next adventure. -

Originally posted by infinityshock i know, but i dont trust it. definitely not $300 worth of trusting it. the most ive ever done is carry it in a lazy-river to video record
i have a sony action camera with an entire submersible case yet have never brought it in the water
Hmm, probably the move is to go for something cheap enough to the point of almost being sacrificial then.
The old GoPro Hero 3+ can be found on eBay for like $50 generally and they are still genuinely a solid action cam and also significantly weather/water resistant. Then a submersible case for it will make it genuinely almost indestructible. Then also being cheap means almost zero anxiety.
Idk, might be worth checking out cuz jetski videos would be fucking sick. -

A GoPro can get wet. Even if you have an older, non water resistant one then a waterproof housing is like $12 on eBay. -
