If he doesn't change out woodrot he should break out the soft mushy water damage and use green-spray which stops mildew and mold from eating the rest away. But it's so ine pensive to rip out the existing sheething. You use tar paper to cut a template of existing cut pattern and then rip out the old shit and replace. Takes maybe an hour tops.
