Now that we are being inundated by reports telling us how the government has saved us and reached an historic $38 billion of cuts, it's time to put the result in perspective. This was 'Winning' only in a way that Charlie Sheen could understand. The government would have shut down if a solution wasn't reached. It's not like this was done randomly - the laws of the country forced them. It took the threat of government shut down (which some people seem to think is a bad thing) to force them to come up with $38 billion of cuts. Even with looming shutdown, they couldn't help themselves from throwing in some riders. Although, even the riders were less odious than the President trying to convince us earlier in the week that not allowing planned budget increases actually counted as budget cuts! They really did try and tell us that by not going implementing planned spending increases, they were actually saving money. Say what? Maybe that logic applies to Saks' shoe sales, but in the real world, that is not a cut, nor is it savings.

The threaded pipes used in some plumbing installations for the delivery of gases or liquids under pressure have a tapered thread that is slightly conical. The seal provided by a threaded pipe joint depends upon multiple factors: the labyrinth seal created by the threads; a positive seal between the threads created by thread deformation when they are tightened to the proper torque; and sometimes on the presence of a sealing coating, such as thread seal tape or a liquid or paste pipe sealant such as pipe dope. Tapered thread joints typically do not include a gasket.

More Harm Than Good As soon as the human brain developed reason and critical thinking, we rose to the top of the food chain and invented agriculture. This toppled the equilibrium that the planet had existed in for millions of years. People began living longer and we could support more people for longer. We began to expand and exploit more and more of the earths resources. There are seven BILLION people on earth now. All of them want to be fed. The only way to do that? Take even more from mother nature, use machines that poison the air, ground ,and water to continue our way of life. There may still be hope of turning it around and taking steps to limit our influence and to find balance again, but right now, Gaea is dying.

You arrive at the her and asks "I have some sausage and I am looking for some buns. Do you know where I can get some?". If she points to the grocery store, she is not one. If she start giving out the the rates, then she is.

I am sorry for your loss. It is never easy losing a beloved pet, especially so suddenly. Just know that you did your best for her and there wasn't anything else you could do for her. Cats are great at hiding symptoms and often don't show that something is wrong until it has progressed.

Since you say you have a second cat I would take Nignogs to the vet for a blood test to make sure she is FeLV negative and then get her the vaccine so she doesn't contract the virus or can get treatment if she does have it already.

It will get better with time. Just remember all the good times you had together.

We'd just spent the day with relatives who remarked frequently on the cuteness of her 18-month-old sister.
When I told my six year old that I didn't think she was cute, she looked devastated. So I explained.
I told her that cuteness is a word we use to describe babies and puppies: both are small, weak, naïve, and have limited understanding of the world. The cute don't have power or control over their lives and they're valued primarily for their appearance.

hey, all! Throwaway because I don't want my friends + family knowing about this quite yet.
I'll keep it short- I was blessed recently to get a great new job that pays roughly 3x my old job. I have about $2000 a month extra now, but this is a very new thing. I've never owned a new car before, just bought used ones for cash, so I don't know squat about leasing or buying.

In the countable sense, a verse is formally a single metrical line in a poetic composition. However, verse has come to represent any division or grouping of words in a poetic composition, with groupings traditionally having been referred to as stanzas.

I'll admit it that that thought has come across my mind a couple times,I love drugs but I haven't tried "hardcore" drugs. The only reason? I've never been o Offered them. I have an act of not really looking for drugs but when I hear a couple friends talking about something I haven't heard of I always try them and I have thought that maybe one day I'll try to much or the wrong stuff and that's it. Anyone else like that. Also trying untested random pills with no background check.

This one gets me every time. “OH SHIT, SON! I never thought of that! All this time my lack of sexual desire was really just a deep-seeded, repressed sex drive towards people of the same sex! DUH!” Um. Just no.

Bet on the beard. The researchers found that the males of species in complex social groups flaunted more conspicuous ornaments than the males of species in small groups. The finding suggests that flamboyant ornaments are of greater benefit to males in complex groups, which involve greater competition.

“When you live in a small group where everyone knows everyone because of repeated interactions, there is no need to signal quality and competitiveness via ornaments,” Grueter said in a written statement. “In large groups where individuals are surrounded by strangers, we need a quick reliable tool to evaluate someone’s strength and quality, and that’s where these elaborate ornaments come in. In the case of humans, this may also include phenotypic extensions such as body decoration, jedielry and prestige items.”

One of my employees. I'm up near the top of the management chain, and have maybe 4 managers on the rung below me that she would have to answer to if I had the day off.
She kept forgetting who was in charge and kept asking the wrong people for help. We even wear specific uniforms that show the pecking order. Even after a year, she was asking people to help her with things that they had no access to.
She also didn't realize that dollar coins are worth as much as paper money. She'd ask if we could accept them, and if she did what she was "supposed to count them as." She was famous for asking questions that couldn't be dumbed down any further for her.
To be fair, I think she was on some sort of anti-psychotic medicine that made her like a walking zombie. She'd say she saw floating heads that talked to her.
I won't call her dumb, because that's dismissive of whatever her real issues are. I'll just say she was unique.

Painting on the ground is messy and tough on one's back, and painting outdoors can lead to debris caught in the paint's finish. This guide will walk you through creating your own paint booth for use in a garage (or on a patio that connects to sliding glass doors).
