I always thought it was weird how psychologically embedded the users here are to their avatars
like for example
krotz had an avatar that looked like a little smug and insufferable character, that perfectly reflected his personality.
MMQ has a smug and passive aggressive avatar, sums him up perfectly.
sophie has a little anime girl avatar because he sees himself as an innocent abused child but in reality he would stab you in your sleep if you looked at him the wrong way.
ratface has avatars that don't even make sense except in his little drug addled mind
Even if you're a VR enthusiast who read snow crash way back in the day, you have no clue what it's going to be like.

The truth is, normies will never embrace virtual reality en masse, as it is something that really only has niche appeal and the masses wouldn't be willing to spend numerous hours cut off from the "real world" and psychologically implanted into a metaphysical reality.
What people like fuckerberg, apple and microsoft mean when they refer to the metaverse they mean more of a sort of mass connected internet of things, which will be driven by augmented reality.
So when zuckerfuck mentions the metavere what he's really talking about is you using a mixed reality HMD to see virtual objects layered over the real world, or having your friends and family beam real time recreations of their bodies into your livingroom.
Sadly this is what it will come to, because in "real life" everything is always boring and reduced to the most simple application.
So instead of a massive interconnected persistent digital world in VR (which will exist but won't be as big as the normieverse) you'll just get a world connected through augmented reality.
If you ever decide to go outside and visit a park you might see groups of non-white children bobbing their heads back and forth while virtual characters move about, or if you're hiking you'll have a virtual tour guide show you around the forest.
The jews had to suck in gamers first because they were the only market that would be willing to invest in early stage gear at a pace that would be econmically feasible, then while working out R&D they would eventually create an ecosystem that would be appealing to the general public.
So in the end the main "metaverse" won't be the exciting cyberpunk wetdream but a more dumbed down Facebook esque layer over reality.
HOWEVER
The real metaverse WILL EXIST and IS going to be AWESOME
It's going to be like Second Life where you'll have sex with underage children that are actually middle aged men, you'll be able to take the gun you earned in call of zion and play it in the latest grand theft auto.
It's going to be great and the whole trans* movement is going to explode, even your parents and pets will swap genders.
