Real reason ATT wants to shut down copper

the real reason they want to pull the copper out now is because civilizational decline in the west is inevitable. if they don't do it, roving bands of handsome and well tanned individuals will. just like they do in south africa. they might as well be the ones to profit.

" By and large, an infrastructure for universal interconnection among humans and their artefacts is emerging. That infrastructure will unify internetworking and space flight technologies. A wide variety of innovations and applications will benefit from space internetworking: (i) space missions can reach deep space because resource sharing among different agencies enables more paths towards the destination and far destinations will be reached (ii) space data will not be wasted, but instead it will be exploited and disseminated to interested users – this is not happening efficiently today, (iii) social policies will be deployed – space can support global, low-cost or free access to Internet and therefore, space can support global access to knowledge.

Having realised the research potential of Space Internetworking early on, we decided to highlight its benefits, detail a research plan and seek European support for the first European Space Internetworking Center: SPICE."

during a major Earthquake, they can just reroute lines to find a working one. you can't do that with a cell mast that gets taken out.

What do cell masts have to do with replacing copper wire with fiber optics?

Because as stated, the overhead of repairing physical lines underground or telephone lines isnt profitable and its very costly to repair while switching to Cell Towers (or MAST or whoever they place the cells on) is the future and I guess easier to maintain as external devices.

But there is a two bird/one stone when it comes to the New Left agenda of keeping people from secretly communicating over data lines using old BBS Hosting and Telnet software

Here is Houston all the cabling is above ground...or at least a huge % of it. That's for few reasons, it's as you noted cheaper to repair above ground and the water table is so high that buried cables don't really make sense for that reason.

However, they are still switching over to fiber optics...just a couple of months ago here at work we were forced to switch to fiber because the copper was being discontinued...they replaced the copper above ground wires with above ground fiber...on the same poles...again cell masts had nothing to do with that switch.

But they get to have a secondary narrative (hidden) that they know the opposition wanted to use old technology to communicate telnet in secrecy. if they start limiting Internet there was the older p2p gateway over phone lines.

have a nice day, Mr Tejas

Maybe you're one of them. You're a Leftist. is that why you escaped to America because of the "New Left" moving up in mainstream?

They want to get rid of ground communications because the New World Order can't control that. Same with the money and the food supply and the ability to travel. They mean to control all of it, at one hundred percent.
