New study links political ignorance and national narcissism to climate change denial

Michalski’s team discovered that individuals with lower levels of current and theoretical political knowledge were more likely to believe in climate change conspiracies. Furthermore, national narcissism (but not national identification) partially acted as a mediator in this relationship, meaning that those with less understanding of their country’s political system were more likely to identify with their nation in a narcissistic way, which was associated with a denial of climate change.

The researchers concluded, “it seems that political education [provides] young people with both dimensions of political knowledge … could be an important factor influencing their attitudes regarding climate change. Providing young people with information about the principles of democracy could also potentially have an impact on various negative outcomes of this type of in-group identity, such as resistance to pro-environmental policies, out-group hostility, support for populism, or endorsement of other types of conspiracy beliefs.”

But the tiny detail they don't want you to know is the so-called Polish Academy of Sciences are funded by about a third of the Polish government's budget for science. So, you basically have a bunch of paid off turds spewing whatever the government wants them to spew, for money, and lots of it. The source is not a credible one, because it's not an independent, unbiased, neutral source.

It's like "Look! I found the truth in a garbage can!" Totally worthless information.

TLDR education results in greater conformance to the party line.

The term "conspiracy theorist" is now used as a bludgeon against theories and suspicions which later turn out to be entirely true.

Our species is too based, and too smart, for climate change to be of genuine concern to anyone but the most ignoble of midwits.

The thing that upsets me most in life is the limited range of goods Aldi US sells compared with Aldi Europe.

The happiest thing that can happen for a climate cultist is to die by extreme and sudden heat.

It blows my mind. They have been banging the global warming/climate change drum for 60+ years. Every 5 years they have moved the goal posts when the prediction of doom fails to manifest. In spite of all this, the current generation buys the shite like it's gospel.

It's the same thing with Trump. Every accusation made, ever charge brought, (even the 34 felonies), the Steele dossier... (the list is exhaustive) have all evaporated one by one like the horseshit and gunsmoke they are constructed from. Yet everytime a new bullshit is born they all jump and shout with glee, "We got em this time".

No matter hiw many times they are lied to they cling to the latest lies like ticks.

We are technically still in an ice age. The current ice age started just over two and a half million years ago, and it hasn't quite ended yet. Within a single ice age, there are periods of warmth where glaciers melt, which are called interglacial periods. The opposite, when glaciers spread, is called glacial cycles.

Earth is still in an ice age, but we are currently in an interglacial period, which is a warmer phase between glacial periods. The Quaternary Ice Age, which began around 2.5 million years ago, is still ongoing. The most recent glacial period, which is often referred to as the "Ice Age", peaked about 20,000 years ago, when the Earth was likely 10°F (5°C) colder on average than it is today. The current interglacial period began around 11,000 years ago and is characterized by a milder climate and glaciers that have retreated closer to the poles.

We are still in a "snow ball" earth, where our climate is dominated by periodic glaciations and interglacial periods (we are in an interglacial period now). That's a function of sea levels, ice reflecting sunlight, etc. That is all true.

It's very unlikely we will see another ice age for a few hundred thousand years, until all the carbon we've emitted from fossil fuel reservoir depletion has a chance to sequester itself. The earth will transition to a much warmer planet with higher sea levels, less land mass and greater humidity (water vapour is the biggest greenhouse gas), a little bit similar to during the carboniferous period, except not as extreme.
