It means nothing. The Ayatollah - their supreme leader - is still alive. It'll be like if Kamala Harris died.

there will be an endless stream of helicopters heading to the desert, getting lost, crashing, send another one, etc

The "Dessert Dogs" search and rescue team is gonna be eating well

Apparently the helicopter was a 50 year old Bell 212, a leftover from when the Yanks fell in love with the Shah and his oil and tried to make Iran gay.

The media is focusing on that a lot. It's kinda stupid, cos it actually doesn't matter. The helicopter worked fine.

For me it's more interesting that we still have pilots kamikazeeing their helicopters into the sides of hills in the fog instead of just using sat nav and altitude maps. That's bizarre. Cars should have infrared cameras to see in the fog too.

That helicopter is such dog water that I wouldn't water my dessert dog with it if it was the last thimble of desert dog water in the entire desert

Khomeini's a religious leader at the head of the Guardian Council, he can decide whether legislation is compliant with Shiia Islam or not but doesn't really dictate policy

Raisi, a reviled leader known as the “Butcher of Tehran,”

aside from cherrypicked diaspora I mean

I mean sure democracy is fake and gay, but an approval rating over 70% according to gallup (at least partially a rebound from the previous government's covid policies) does not indicate that he's unpopular.

I was going to post, but then I realised you were talking about Raisi, not Brandon.

Iran looks way nicer than places like Morocco or England, whiter too.

twitter runs the gamut from gay and retarded people screeching at eachother to thoughtful intellectuals who just shitpost all day, and you really want to find the corners wherein the latter dwell. it sucks until you learn how to use it. ie find interesting people, start replying to them and following them, and the algorithm will decide that's what you should see from now on. at that point twitter basically just becomes an informal bbs.
