Edge was a curiosity when it first came out as Chrome with less tracking, but now they've really Microsofted the fuck out of it and it's full of spyware and telemetry that I'm not even sure you can disable on the enterprise version of Windows
Firefox has increasingly become a Chrome clone that can't offer real privacy features out of the box due to the fact that most of Mozilla's revenue comes from a search deal with Google; they can't kick Google's advertising business too hard by thoroughly blocking ads and trackers and so it needs a lot of configuration to be good
Brave can go fuck itself it asks for my fucking phone number to claim BAT, get fucked. Yeah just like telegram is THE MOST SECURE MESSAGING APP EVER "phone number please sir ,NO NOT A FAKE NUMBER A VALID ONE TIED TO YOUR ID!"
dumbfucks don't know the first fucking thing about online privacy.
BAT is an optional feature, not even enabled by default and you can completely hide it from the UI if you want and just use Brave like any other browser without crypto monetisation.
The fact that KYC is needed to claim BAT is beyond their control, as they can't legally hand out BAT without becoming a registered financial institution, in which case they'd need to collect KYC info themselves. According to Eich, they don't want to hold on to users' personal info, so they delegate managing custodial wallets to a third party which also legally must collect KYC or be shut down by the government of virtually any civilised country.
Wrt actually implementing privacy and security features in the main browser project, they're way ahead of others.
Yeah nah I heard they are good along with opera browser are the best in the game. but the bat thing pissed me off like how the fuck do you make a crypto require a phone number
