You should also avoid doing a reading (or asking for a reading) about someone other than yourself. It is considered unethical and if you don’t know the person very well it’s likely your own energy will influence the outcome of the reading.

    It depends on who you ask, but for me and my personal code of ethics, the answer is yes — it is wrong to intentionally lay a spread about a specific person without their knowledge or permission. And, in all likelihood, reading someone’s cards without their knowledge (and therefore without their input) will result in wildly inaccurate conclusions.

    Tarot can reveal very personal information about the querent, without his or her express permission I feel it’s unethical to just report your findings, However since the energy between you and your querent can’t be flowing if the person you’re reading is not aware of the reading then I suppose it really doesn’t matter since the reading will most likely simply reflect your feelings about the situation.
