men who desire sex with children as usually socially shunned by women of their own age, have never had a successful long..or even short term relationship with one and as such are "stunted" in their love life.
They see children/teens as less experienced and naive (much like themselves) and believe they are impressed by perceived age/experience of an older man and so the predator plays on this and targets them for sexual relationships.
Adopting behaviors the predator thinks the teen would be interested in such as texting, Instagram, snapchat, music, video games etc the predator will try to work his way into the mind of the child by appearing on their level thereby showing respect and not treating the child like a child.
Once the fraud has been established the predator will then attempt to meet the child and sex will ideally take place.
