I thought I was just a depressed loner pretty much. But I've been hanging out with my neighbor and I even installed his TV today. but now I'm thinking my problems not me because I've been nice as you can get,/ courteous as fuck. and he still kind of getting an attitude with me. and now I'm kind of thinking either maybe I should grow a backbone or I'm too nice for this world and I should hang by a rope

It's not about you. It's frustrating but if you're a nice person, you don't pick and choose who to be nice to. Sometimes people are just not responding to your small talk and stuff and it's ok. Be yourself. Be cool. If they ever have a problem, it'll be their problem and not yours because you won't have been anything but a perfectly sweet gentleman.

Want the truth? It's ok to be a loner. The difference between introverts and extroverts is just that introverts recharge their emotional energy by being alone and extroverts recharge it by being amongst people. Then the other one feels like exertion. Just keep being a nice guy and meet new people.

    Here is the truth.

Everyone can find friends. No matter what. There are too many people in the world to all not like you. The other ones aren't bad. They just aren't dancing to the same tune and that's ok.

People were nicer to me when I had anger issues and I didn’t like it. Would tell people to fuck off if they said hey and they’d still be nice. Things seemed black and white and maybe they still are, or isolating myself then becoming confident helped, idk, could be eccentric clothing that people like.

there's a fine line between being helpful and allowing people to take advantage of you and you need to find it

I think I'm a pretty nice goy who's too nice sometimes but I yell at my employees and friends pretty often too. Basically when people see you have an angry meltdown or enact violence they're usually pretty tepid after and will have that in the back of their head

Nobody can stop me from being nice, I'm nice to everyone because I'm inherently nice.

Sounds like you were trying to make a friend, and your neighbor was the raw materials you had at your disposal. You were expecting payment in the form of a mutual social attachment. You were imposing on him your need for a social connection. You aren't "too nice", you're a scheming little worm who was trying to get something out of it. Normally when you help out your neighbors, the most you can hope for is a cold beer if they have one and are feeling nice. You wanted an entire friendship out of it, and that probably showed.

People don't need friends at all. Neither should they want them. Concentrate on yourself and bettering society in general.
