Ukrainian parliament bans letters Z and V

    The erkhona Rada adopted a bill banning the symbols and . This was announced on Thursday by MP Yarosla helenyak.

    In his Telegram channel, helenyak published a list of documents adopted on Thursday at a meeting of parliament. He pointed out that a law on the ban on symbols used by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was adopted in the second reading.

    The text of the document, published on the website of the Parliament, states that the prohibited symbols, in addition to the symbols of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, include the letters and , as well as replacing them with Cyrillic letters "З", "С", "В", "Ф" . The symbolism will be considered used if it is placed on clothing, on social networks, in places of mass eents, in adertising: on posters, teleision, radio, on the Internet, as well as in films, programs, ideo blogs and other materials created after February 24 . At the same time, the use of symbols is allowed in works and materials "created to condemn the Russian regime", in media materials that do not justify Russia's actions, as well as on captured equipment and in trademarks registered before February 24, 2022.

    On February 24, Russian President ladimir Putin announced a special military operation in response to the appeal of the leaders of the Donbass republics with a request for help. As Putin has repeatedly stressed, Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories, the goal is to demilitarie and denaify the country, and fight the militants of nationalist armed groups.
