Some people here think it’s a mental illness and others a difference, but you can be sectioned in the UK just for having it.

My psychologist was a waste of time and uncaring. She didn’t try to talk to me about rashly changing my legal name, she just signed it as a witness. It’s actually common for aspies to change their names. All she was good for was getting meds.

She knew I was an alcoholic but still recommended I be given diazepam.

My mum benefited from it more than me. She wasn’t meant to go to my psychologist sessions but went along anyway to complain about me. What kind of narcissist takes up their daughter’s therapy time? I remember my psychologist tried to explain to her my difficulties and she just said it can’t all be about me.

She was acting like my mental condition affected her more than it affected me.

I would say so. My dad was a mildly eccentric engineer and I have a knack for physics, so that was passed down. There’s a link between older fathers and ASD, my dad was 37 when he had me. Engineering is the most autistic profession.

"A total of 397 younger siblings of a child with ASD, drawn from existing prospective high familial risk cohorts, were included in these analyses. Overall, we did not observe significant associations of advanced parental age with clinical ASD diagnosis, Social Responsiveness Scale, or Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales scores. Instead, increased odds of ASD were found with paternal age < 30 years (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 2.83 and 95% confidence intervals [CI] = 1.14–7.02). "

How old was he when he began having mental illness that affected his ability to live on his own? I always thought he was like 2/10 on the functionality scale but you telling me he was an engineer is kinda interesting.

No one in my family has mental illness except me, Bipolar Disorderly, Borderline Personality Disorder but I think a lot of what caused it was childhood trauma, neglect, emotionial/verbal/sexual abuse, and drug use at an early age.

I'm really thankful I'm (kinda) smart, it's my one redeeming feature honestly. That and my own self awareness but you seem pretty aware of your self as well.

I've always liked you and I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot when I was drinking years ago.

I need a computer mouse, I'm debating stealing one from the library or just going to go buy one at walmart. How much are computer mice anyway, like 10 bucks? FOLKS I AINT GOT MONEY FOR THIS FRIVOLOUS SHIT, but using a touchpad is kinda hard when you have long stick fingers and arthritis and i keep bumping the trackpad with my fumbs while i type cuz im getting old

NVM just realized tomorrow is the first and I already paid bills and I just withdrew money at the walmart when I got the socks and beaters, we good yall. IDK if I should buy a computer mouse, I think imma give it a couple days and just try to come up on one from the public library.

I thought there was increased risk of autism with advanced age mothers. I know there is an increased risk of homosexuality with advanced age mothers who are very fertile.

You have the lowest self-awareness on this site.
