I've always been curious how they can formally discern that. Like, I can just stop going to my job (quitting my job) but I could also just say that I didn't quit and I just was no-call no-showing for a little while but I was planning on coming back. Then if they say they didn't want me back that would mean they fired me.
How can a place ever say you quit unless you put it in writing? Otherwise you're just taking a break without asking them and if they don't like it, then that's them firing you and not you quitting. -

No call no show for just one day is grounds for dismissal..as your fault (in Texas).
I had this issue with a guy at my last job. He claimed he was fired by me because he was black (guffaw)...we had a tribunal with him, me and the Texas workforce guy. Both told our version of events... he lost and had to pay them back all the unemployment he'd already recieved.
