This post made me laugh out loud to myself in a pizza shop (or as you brits call it; a crisp lorry poofter) which finally means I found a use for a face mask: so I look less insane when laughing to myself

Opiates are also very different from opioids but I wouldn't expect a lowland nancy boy like yourself to know such nuances.

It's fun to live in your cute little head 😊

People who were picking up free TV with an antennae were getting knocks on their door by the government requiring they register their TV sets. The wanted to come in and check, too.

Oh yes the TV license..still happens. Though you don't actually have to let them in, it's only the suckers who get caught. Similar thing here though with DirecTV...back when the H and Hu cards were hackable...if you had a satellite dish on your roof but not active account they'd send you a threatening letter, Ether pay a 2-5k fine or be taking to court and find up to 20k and thrown in jail, most people paid the fine like suckers.

Hacking those DTV cards made me a pretty penny back in the day.

What I don't get about that is they are broadcasting unencrypted signals over the open airwaves, and yet people have to be registered to use them? If they don't want people receiving them, shouldn't that be their problem to secure them, without going door to door and harassing people and wanting to get in?

Same argument was used with hacking DirecTV here...It shouldn't be "my" problem if your satellite wants to invade my airspace with your signal...on my property it becomes mine.

...that argument didn't work either and people got fined or jailed...or both.

I remember the government saying something like.. yeah, the signal is free, but you still have to pay tax on it.

I still don't buy the argument they make that it's illegal to decode a signal that is invading my airspace...which is all you are doing when "stealing" satellite TV...decoding the signal they chose to send.

If it's on my property without my consent etc...

BTW, That's why in England it's a TV license...thereby circumventing the argument that you are paying for the signal. Brits are smarter than Americans.
