   I'm not much interested in analytical chemistry. Most people that become "chemists" and go to school for it just do analytical stuff for big companies. pretty boring work just dissolve things in test tubes, put them in the fridge, write down numbers for $50k/yr
   
   Analysis is important but doing it all day every day as a career sounds pretty boring to me. Nilered used to be an analytical chemist but he found it very boring so he started a youtube channel and now he gets to be a real scientist making money from his own experimental research
   
   
   
   It's a very expensive hobby that can cost thousands of dollars and sometimes you never make any money from it
