Me me me, I like I like I like...

Try to be less selfish and self absorbed guys, instead ask what others like? People like to be asked questions as it shows them you're interested in what they do/say and think...that's a sure fire path towards a good friendship and relationship.

When I bought my Six Acres, there was a sailboat on the property under a tarp...it was in need of major work. During the purchasing process the boat was never mentioned by the former owner and I kept quiet about it hoping he'd just leave it there. I figured if I mentioned it he'd try to sell it to me. There was also a beat up old car.

During the weeks leading up to finalizing the land purchase I began to make plans for my new project, the restoration of said sailboat and I imagined weekends and months of manly work along with the day of completion and launching the newly restored vessel on Lake Conroe which was nearby.

Alas on the day of signing we headed out to the land after signing the docs only to find the sailboat GONE but the wrecked car still sitting there. I was outraged and got on the phone with the former owner and said "I see you took the boat but left the fucking heap, come get that piece of shit car off my land".

    So ended another dream.

Did your 6 acres at least come with a mule?

    No,

It came with a deer feeder, deer stand, water well (replaced), septic re: 2x 50 gallon drums buried a few inches below the surface...removed and replaced by a $4500 system), 3 out-buildings and a 1970s era single wide trailer that I had dragged to the back of the property to use for storage. Before I could have it dragged I had to chop down about 20 trees (as the property was wooded) which I did myself after purchasing a chainsaw and plaid shirt from ACE hardware.

WTF did you do with quail?

Englishmen and their boat and foul.

Sold the eggs to local businesses.

It was ex-wifes #1 thing really. She was an animal nut. The orginal plan was to sell and eat the quail too but she couldn't bring herself to killing them etc. We had about 200 quail (2 dozen chickens and a dozen pheasants too, as well as a couple of goats).

The quail produced 50-100 eggs per day...and I have to say quail eggs are much tastier than chicken eggs..the yolk is much bigger vs the white too.

Anyway she'd go around the local restaurants etc and we were selling big jars of pickled quail eggs (50 per jar) to them. Many an evening was spent sitting at the dining table shelling quail eggs after hardboiling them and then putting them in this vingear concoction she'd come up with. One particular evening as we sat MIND NUMBINGLY shelling eggs I said to her

"How much are we making off these eggs?"

    "$10 per jar" she said...

"WTF...I'M WASTING MY EVENINGS DOING THIS SHIT FOR $10 FUCKING DOLLARS PER 50 EGGS????"

I never shelled an egg again except for my own consumption....I showed her.

As if shelling eggs is equivalent to chopping down 20 trees and digging up 2x 55 gallon septic tank drums...

Oh and burying her fucking goats when a local dog killed them...have you ever dug a 5ft deep hole in Texas when its' 100F and the ground is like concrete??? I thought I was going to die.

Then I pulled the dead goats into the hole and we both stood there looking down into the hole at them...the flies were buzzing and they were covered in their own feces...then she said between her tears ...

    "I want the name tags".

"Couldn't you have asked me to get the name tags BEFORE I put them in the fucking hole"

    "Get me the name tags"

So down I went into the death hole to remove the name tags while being attacked by 1000 files and the stench of filthy shit covered dead goats...

REAL man work...it was like loading the bodies into the pits at Auschwitz

That's the second time in two days you mentioned that. Makes me think that was the limit of your work. Other than digging a 5ft hole like a fucking retard instead of just dragging the corpses to the edge of you SIX FUCKING ACRES and burning them.

Or just eating them. I fucking despair. Was your wife anything like Felicity Kendal? I'm painting an amusing picture in my mind.

    lol.

you dont need a 5' hole for a goat unless you intended to bury your wife with it.
