Twisted my knee. Again.

Fight through the pain and keep saying under your breath "motion is the lotion, motion is the lotion" and before you know it you'll once again be kneeling before your master sucking his dripping dick.

thats not how bones work. the pain serves as 'under construction' sign to inform you not to use that bodypart while your body is trying to fix it.

moving it will only serve to increase blood flow to the region, which can also be achieved by blanketing the injured part to keep it warm without having to move them.

Well it's not just bone dumbo...There is more to a joint that just bone.

I'm going to defer to the Orthopedic doctor and orthopedic therapist's advice rather than a part time barrista and rickshaw driver if you don't mind, my hand is now 65% less painful that it was thanks to the therapy...however I will be returning to said Doctor on Oct 8th for a Steroid shot in my hand as he wanted to see 80% improvement through the therapy...and we didn't quite get there.

the orthopedic would be credible if you only need to pay him once no matter how many follow ups visits ensue.

now can you see his motivation for slowing down your healing and prolonging your follow up visits ?

Again the proof is in the pudding...65% less painful that it was doing the exercises I was given to do 3 times a day...wacka wacka wacka

desensitizing the pain receptors wont make the injuries go away.

if you leave a glass of sour milk on your desk while you work you wont notice it after a few minutes. doesnt mean its not there.

It's strengthening the tendons and muscles not desensitizing in my case...lazy tendons/muscles means a joint can "sit" in a position that can irritate the injury..a tight setup aligns everything correctly and eases the pressure on said joint. Of course bone damage can't be addressed by therapy but then it's not the bone that is causing the discomfort most of the time...it's the soft fleshy bits

A twisted knee would be soft fleshy bits/muscular, not bone...an idle muscle takes longer to heal than an active one...just the facts ma'am

The 3 instances in which i sustained significant injuries enabled me to acquire the perspective of avoiding taking for granted 100 percent physical health. All of the quick, simple tasks that are normally done routinely become difficult, sometimes incredibly so.

Indeed...when I was incapacitated for 3 months the simplest things you take for granted became massive undertakings...I swore I would never ridicule a disabled person again ...or park in their spot like an asshole.

    bone, tendon, ligament, same thing.

the reason my injury got worse is because i try to use it before its healed.

initially its the part of my knee that are joined to the muscles that do the step / kick movement that hurt.

now its my entire knee and around my kneecap thats swollen.

I always assumed my knees would be ruined by the time I retired. Actually, they are in good shape.

My assumption was because of having to spend hours a day kneeling in front of furnaces and A/Cs on concrete basement floors or hard ground as I worked on them every day for decades. My salvation was that I took two of those garden foam kneelers (approximately 6 x 12 x 1 inches with a hole for a handle) and glued them together to make the pad 2 inches thick and then covered them with plastic/rubber that is used for flashing windows (to keep it from getting chewed up). I then threaded through the handle with my tool belt belt so that it was always right there with my tools as I worked.
