Some tried. But a full force coup and even palace coup was really largely made impossible through Hitler's style of governing. Something called Führerprinzip. This is when you have multiple people and/or departments/ministries work and compete towards the same goal to see who will fulfill the vision of The Fuhrer the best. It generally prevents coalitions against you from forming while leaving a lot of freedom in the hands of the department heads to gather the resources and manpower and such to perform their duty according to their own interpretation of The Fuhrer's will. This is over simplified, but it's a pretty lean form of government and a high risk/reward form of government too. Which on one level is reasonable, reassure the chinks, but also utterly insane - believing there was a chance of war - and 100% treasonous, since the army is supposed to be controlled by civilians, and they aren't supposed to betray their own leadership. Betraying your own leadership is the definition of treason.
Ultimately a sad situation - things like this can only happen because people take jedi media bullshit seriously. When will we learn? -

Except this is just plain wrong, because even if you somehow managed to hit every bunker and launch facility where nukes are stored, every nuclear power has at least one submarine with nuclear missiles onboard at sea at all times. -

I am guessing you never followed the procedures? They were going to hang him regardless, the only reason Albert Speer got 20 years in prison instead of the death penalty was because he expressed regret. During the procedures Goering argued that the people putting him on trial had no legal basis to do so. And that he did not recognize the authority of the court. the reason he took the cyanide was to deprive the allies the pleasure of hanging him. Like i said he was going to die anyway, better to die on your own terms then. That's what i call holding your own. -

I've read volumes on the trials Skippy including Speers book. Goering was an arrogant fag who killed innocent people and then himself. -
