It's Lavender which is a royal purple I think. it used to be a very expensive dye before the 20th century figured out how to make purple dye inexpensive.
gigi is a painter and knows a lot about color mapping and stuff. which is cool because I learned it with 3D software for texturing. which the computer screen wasnt very accurate back 20 years or so. not like today with the new color monitors on phones and big screens.
how color is produce virtually is different from nature. nature refracts light that bounces off of objects while virtual is all simulated.

You are correct. And the reason some of The Curia wear it is to make the distinction between their stations or ranks if you will. An Arch-Bishop wears purple, a Cardinal wears red. -

Thanks for that. I mean, as far as expensive dye goes.. mix red and blue with perhaps bits of black, yellow or green to make purple. I know they crush Ladybug or lady bird wings for reds. Dried flowers for blues.
