2017-01-19 at 3:14 AM UTCI know nu metal is really cheesey and "not real metal" but its just something I grew up with when music on the radio was better and they were just more innocent times. I used to wear dickie long shorts and spike my hair and jam out with my sony discman walking to school stoned. I liked bands like mudvayne, slipknot, incubus, linkin park, korn, orgy, and papa roach.
Jummp da ball up before fucking get reked the fuck up!
How about you guys?

2017-01-19 at 3:45 AM UTC^hey bro, not everyone is a hippie that listens to reggae, mmmmK?
-
2017-01-19 at 4:08 AM UTCDisturbed is the only nu-metal band that I liked, and I don't think they really fit into that genre very well, but that's apparently what they're considered
-
2017-01-19 at 4:49 AM UTCNuMetal is aight. I like Boy Sets Fire and 36 Crazyfists to name a few.
-
2017-01-19 at 4:57 AM UTC^thats rad I guess I never thought of boysetsfire as a nu metal band but they were around back in that time, I haven't thought about them in forever. Helmet was also pretty cool and kinda like that

2017-01-19 at 5:03 AM UTCLast resort seems to be a staple in my memory for sure. Idk what nu metal is but there is definitly a genera of fast paced music with a common theme that strikes me for sure. Ill keep in this thread as its got interesting music that resonates with me. But I dont have anything to contribute.

2017-01-19 at 5:21 AM UTCThey call it combinowanie or are proud of it vs other europeans hwo good they are at finding small ways to hustle or save money in illegal or semi legal ways. for insatcne password sharing on netflix is huge in poland, pirated software, going to store isles and pretending to pay for goods and making it seem like you did only to wlak out for free with them. etc. they call it "combinowanie" and may be the best at it in europe.

2017-01-19 at 7:58 AM UTCI really try to give genres people shit on a go ever since I got into emo but I really can't do nu metal.
When I'm extremely drunk and up too late I'll pull up some linkin park I guess -
2017-01-19 at 7:58 AM UTCDoes tool count? I can tolerate like two of their albums

Can you tolerate things harder than Nu Metal? Like metalcore, or deathcore, or Black Metal? -
2017-01-19 at 8:21 AM UTCNo on metalcore, yes on black metal. I like newer doom and ambient metal. Sleep and Earth are my shit
-
2017-01-19 at 8:21 AM UTCbasically if it involves white people rapping it's shit

When i think about doom metal i always have to think about Woods of Ypres, this song specifically.
Listening to this i think a better name for it would be Gloom Metal (-_-").
Also, any Black Metal bands you particularly enjoy? Do you like the old school stuff like Burzum?
Personally i am more into symphonic black like Dimmu Borgir and Carach Angren, that last one are Dutch. I have seen them live as well, pretty dope.
When i am feeling particularly edgy i like to listen to Suicidal/Post Black Metal, like Lifelover, Harakiri for the Sky, and Thränenkind.
-
2017-01-19 at 8:48 AM UTCI don't mind Burzum but it's not my go to. Listened to a lot of Emperor and Rotting Christ for a while.
I hadn't heard of Harakiri for the Sky but I dig it. Has kind of a skramz vibe going. You into skramz or power violence at all?
-
2017-01-19 at 8:56 AM UTCNever heard of skramz and power violence, but if it's like Harakiri, i am going to check it out. Also lol, King's Girls, the hysteric yelling is more humorous than anything.
In the mean time i checked out rotting christ, sounds pretty dope.

2017-01-19 at 9 AM UTCAlso, Lifelover is dope breh. Has hysteric yelling as well.

2017-01-19 at 6:39 PM UTCfor doom metal I've been a big fan of bongzilla
and my favorite black metal band is ildjarn, i tend to not like black metal with tons of keyboards
