Why my mom said...back when my dad and her were dating..they were at a party and Michael Jackson came on and my dad did a whole routine dancing and singing and everything
And that's so hilarious to me because my dad was very serious.. except when he was drinking he'd be really silly sometimes then other times he'd get really in depth about life ..
The seat next to him at the big dining room table was were many lessons were taught ..many songs discected and many laughs were shared...
I was the DJ...i chose the songs and that was my job ..

I was never broke growing up...I remember buying my friends whatever they wanted before school at the corner store ...
I was never a stingy child .. I had the best but if you was with me you did too...
When i think back to my childhood friends..none of them had a dad ..
I was blessed to have a dad and a step mom growing up...but i didn't appreciate how awesome my step mom was until i became 18..
it was like a light switch...i realized that woman loved me as her own...and she never talked down on my mom about her addiction..she always told me to love my mom no matter what...my mom was the sane age as my oldest step brother...but we weren't allowed to say step...
One time i called brandi my step sister at her job when I was little and she cried
I never said it again ..
She worked at Discovery Zone and i went free all the time and had limitless pizza and coins ...
I don't know where this ramble was going ...but my steo mom loved me so much she wouldn't even die until she saw me ..

My daddy was black...my grandpa was white..he was actually a ginger my mom said ..he died before I was born..but my mom met him..
My daddy was light skinned with the most beautiful hazel eyes...he looked like Mr Miyagi...
My father was loved and respected..
I grew up in a beautiful neighborhood but there were gangs a few streets over that rivaled with each other
One time during "war time" my father was about to go in the house and they stopped shooting at each other just do my dad can go into the house...

My father was respected...worked at the same government job for 46 years..
The state of Chicago sent a representative to speak at my dad's funeral
My fathrr also had a 21 gun salute at his funeral
