As a pretty hard core drinker I decided to get this bottle of Volkov.
To start off the smell is very strong. Almost abrasive and its quite obvious that this stuff is hella strong. There are no hints of anything as you would get from the smell of a whiskey or rum. It is a very pure smell.
Now the bottle claims the liquid contained within is highly flammable. Being marketed as such a high percent alcohol this makes complete sense. I tested out its flammability and a bottle of this alone would make a good molotov.
The taste. Hell man, the taste is something else. I am not a man for chasers as I enjoy the burn that emanates from a good liquor but the burn of this is overpowering. Towards the end of the night I got rather used to it, at least to the point where I wasnt convulsing for a good five minuets from a swig of the bottle. The moment this stuff touches your lips you know you done gone and made a decision. Good or bad you made a decision. When the liquid touches your lips it feels like they dried up. Through the lips into the mouth this doesnt change. You feel as if your entire mouth has been cleaned out. After it finally gets down your gullet it feels as if the esophagus has been doused in paint thinner. Then you breathe out and the fumes come. A heavy industrial scent and taste envelops the head. Not as overpowering as one would think but still much different than a shot of lower percent alcohols.
The effects are pretty straight forward. You get fucking drunk. It is actually a very clean drunk though. The purity of the ethanol makes it so that you dont get any of the side products most other liquors harbor. This means that you metabolize near straight alcohol. This means less bullshit and more drunkshit. Though I was entirely shitfaced I had clarity that really enhanced the drinking experience. And the high alcohol content means more bang for your buck. If it takes you 6 shots to "get there" this stuff will get you there in 3.
Over all I would recommend this stuff. Probably not as your regular drink but it is worth a try for the price of like $17.
