I have a Netgear NightHawk router, model R6230. It's my first router ever. My only internet connection is my mobile hotspot.

Is it possible to connect my router to my mobile hotspot so that the router uses the mobile hotspot for an internet connection?

If not, I'll need to set up my rPi so that it connects to my mobile hotspot and shares it with the router via ethernet.

usually there's an option in the settings to use a USB-dialed internet connection, you typically just need to dial *99#.

if not, DD-WRT is an option

in that case you want it to act as a wireless bridge/relay and it doesn't appear there's anything in the options to support that

So I'll be using my rPi for this then.

As far as the cable goes, would I use a regular ethernet cable or a crossover ethernet cable?
