   Because you live in the midwest. this is a La Nina year (as someone stated) which means it may be nice and sunny and warm in LA but it will rain somewhat in the Bay area and north (Portland Or, Seattle)
   
   more than a normal year but nothing like an El Nino year. so hopefully we don't have mud slides in Northern California from the crappy wild fires killing everything with roots.

   Southern Canada. It gets so cold here that we find people frozen solid in the mornings, stuck to fences and walls and doors. -50F. You spit and it freezes before it hits the snow.

   Had family that grew up in central ND. its no different. that arctic blast hooks down, over Montana and back up into the dakotas and east. blowing into Wisconsin, Northern Il like Chicago, Indiana, Ohio, Pa, Up into Toronto (which is just what.. eastern North New York? i mean it's a man-made border. it is what it is.
