Something I've noticed for over a decade now is the contrast between American "Industrial" fans and European/eastern hemisphere ones.
Americans tend to be more into Industrial-rock, electro-industrial, ebm and futurepop whereas the other prefer ant-zen type rhythmic noise and "power electronics".
Maybe it's the influence of being closer to the British movement and having ant-zen as your own Wax Trax.

The Japanese tend to discard conventional music altogether and go for harsh noise.
Their Industrial movement began in the 80s with bands such as C.C.C.C, Merzbow and Hijokaidan.

Personally I started out with industrial-rock and metal like Rammstein, Turmion Kattalot (I know I'm spelling that wrong), Zeromancer and then NIN.
In 2006 I got huge into Skinny Puppy, Merzbow, Torturing Nurse and Wolf Eyes then in like late 2008 - 2010 I discovered the whole European scene.

Tbh I find ant-Zen to be quite stale and monotonous.

Btw in like 2003 or 2004 I went dumpster diving with my friend at a half price books and I found a legit copy of Last Rights on cassette made for promotional use.
    It's my rarest musical item.
I was 13 at the time so I didn't enjoy it at all but in 2006 when I was getting into inaccessible/difficult music it became my entire world and shaped my tastes and person.
Hard to believe there was a time not long ago I used a cassette unironically.

Never listened to a piece of music because it was on pitchfork in my life. I was on mu for a while because share threads are a pretty good way to listen to a bunch of new stuff.

Not that it matters, I could listen to nothing but pitchfork garbage and still have better taste than you
