My garage door opener RC had a dead battery
its like one of those half the length of a AAA battery.
I needed to get out of the garage. so I went back into the condo and decided to cut a USB charger cord. there is red, green, black and white. I figured Black is hot or lead and white is neutral.
And I held the black on the positive post and the white on the negative side after I striped the housing off. I noticed the battery started to get warm after just 30 seconds and took it off right away. the battery didn't fit so easily going back in the spring battery cradle thingy. like it pushed the top post out a bit from expanding?
it wasn't hot. it was just a nice warm feel to the battery. it worked and worked when I got home and is working now
Alkaline battery. prolly dangerous? think the usb are like 5.x volts? not something I usually do. But I saw someone at an electronic store I worked at do it. Just dont remember if his was Alkaline which i think are not rechargable
