He should have given this executive order before the election. That would have been more politically advantageous as well. Remember how MSM was going on about how Trump would steal the election? Well, if he were actually planning to do that he would have shot himself in the foot with this kind of executive order. Furthermore, there would have been no way of attacking it. Now it just seems petty and vindictive. Had he done it earlier he could have also said: See, i'm the law and order guy.
Question for my American friends. The judiciary isn't really beholden to executive orders right? Due to the separation of powers? It may turn out impossible to get the courts to apply the punishment POTUS basically decreed.
Tell me if i'm wrong. -

At first nothing, but Corona is making my government put on their tyrannical party hats. Also, we benefit immensely from the status quo, as a country, in terms of economics, and defense, so a lot of our politicians like the status quo candidates in the US election. We have an election coming up next year, and it's looking good for our version of Trump. It's different in than in the US cause we have a parliament. So our populist party needs to get an absolute majority, for our Trump to become Prime Minister. That's because all the other parties don't want to run the country in a coalition with them. It's pretty gay and unprecedented, because our populist party is the second biggest after the conservatives. Yet they are in opposition to the current ruling coalition.
The way it's supposed to work is the parties that get the most votes form a coalition government and make compromises to accommodate such an arrangement. -
