2020-10-30 at 12:24 AM UTCHow do candy bars stay in business? I cant remember the last time I bought one, or saw someone buy one, or just knew someone who had any, for that matter. I guess maybe every now and then I'll stumble upon a situation where someone has a bag of mini candy bars or something but not often. Obv halloween is their best time of the year for sales. Are there lots of people that go out of their way to buy big candy bars all the time and I just never witness it or what the HAY?

Good question, it's usually kids that beg their sucker parents. But you could go over to candy land and ask too. -

so they have an experation date but no one honors it. its the only food that probably wont spoil. at least pure chocolate like a hershey bar.
the military during WWII put them in rations and my pops had some from WWII way back in the late 70s and we opened up the rations. some of it went bad. the spam type of can went bad. but the chocolate bar tasted as fresh as it probably was nearly 40 years earlier
Also I worked at a drugstore chain and we resold halloween candy not picked up the year(s) before. rotating wasn't an issue. it still stold and still tasted fresh.
I have a drug probably and that drug is sugar. not the heroin brand. but real process sugar. I have to stop eating it.
thank you for reading all of this. -

What ratio of customers bought individual candy bars when you were working at the droog store, roughly? -
2020-10-30 at 1:42 AM UTCFat people buy gobs of halloween candy knowing full well no one is going to trick or treat in their neighborhood.

we had a theater near us. on weekends lots of candy was purchased and passed around by a group of kids coming in.
its cheaper than the snack bar at the theater.
maybe 2pm people would buy them, including myself and co-workers on breaks. it's cheap energy when you're young and dont have diabetes.
other than that. it was mixed up in other shit. didn't pay attention. I worked in the liquer department most of the time. from like 20-23 years old. I don't recall a candy rack in front of my checkout counter. its not good to mix sugar with alcohol. you crash hard and want to go home earlier than others. most drunk people want to go get burgers or burritos or some shit. Pizza is number 1
