    Folks, 2020 is the era of make your own reality.

    Riots = peaceful protests
    Overdoses = cops crushed his neck
    Fighting the system = having the same politics as google
    Elections (you don't like) = fake
    Flu = we're all going to die
    Arson = climate change
    Trillion dollar deficits = sustainable

    It's all a massive psychological operation to fuck with your sense of reality.
    If you turn off your internet connection and live only in your physical world and immediate surroundings it all stops

    Belarus is not a perfect place. But it was hardly the brutal murderous dictatorship the BBC et al portrayed it to be.

    It's 2020 not 1980, Europe doesn't need to be undermining Russian allies.

    Not sure what to make of this guy. Some Irish dude living in Belarus. he seemed pretty happy under Lukashenkos brutal dictatorship or whatever the fuck, but says "This is not a colour revolution but a genuine grievance from the people of Belarus who want change.".

    I hope he's right, and we can have a peaceful resolution.

    5:20 - "You can see what the difference is between peaceful demonstrators who want real change in their country, and those rioters - in the United States in particular - who burn everything down, who destroy cars, and they blame the police. Police are here to protect us and our property, and not beat us down"

    yeah for the most part it seems that the protests are organic, but NGOs and foreign interests always try and get involved anyway.

    The main issue is that it's a fairly poor country and it seems as though the economy's been mismanaged at a state level, and that the people feel like they're being left behind.

    It doesn't help that presidential candidates are tightly controlled and Luka runs a very effective police state. It's hard to be upset at the guy who responded that 'it's better to be a dictator than a gay' when called such by an obviously gay German politician though.

    also, the woman that the US are claiming should be the next President got less than 10% of the vote and most of that was either protest voters or people who thought it'd be funny.

    Up until recently, ie. the last month or two, Belarus actually hasn't maintained close relations with Russia; it's only the possibility of western countries exploiting the protests and riots that has pushed Luka toward them again.

    Yes Lukashenko always kept Russia at a healthy distance.

    I'd love for Belarus to be a success outside but stay out of the EU and NATO. Provide a healthy alternative model. They have low tax rates, low crime, and it's a bloody clean and tidy looking place from all the vlogs I've seen. There must be some potential there if they can drop the remnants of Soviet bureaucracy.
