Python is definitely the ideal language for learning to program. The only language I've used with the same level of syntactical simplicity was Ruby, but I would argue that Python is better because it has a larger user base and therefore more third party libraries and online support.
And by calling it simple, I don't mean to imply that it's any less capable than any other language, because it is Turing complete and so it can accomplish literally anything that any other language can.
The performance trade offs compared to lower level languages won't be an issue until you've learned Python inside and out, and by then you won't have much difficulty switching between object oriented languages.
So yeah, I believe you could learn Python. Pretty much anyone can if they are devoted to it.

the biggest thing is I lack patience and get frustrated easiily if I dont get something hence why I always hated math. I also drink too much and the dirnking preevnted me from getting good at anything. I plan on changing this and becoming a programmer.
