Pole, nobody who profits off of selling something wants to reduce the population. Not Bill Gates, Elon Musk, big oil ceo's, drug company executives, the NRA, or the government.
The only real worry in that line of thinking would be if the planet becomes uninhabitable because of the way we stick our cock in the earth with no rubber. The people in the future with the means to get off of this rock sure as fuck will not give a damn about people like you and I.

money's only a medium, especially for people like that - whether you have 1 billion or 10 billion dollars you can feasibly buy anything you could ever want, so why bother accumulating more?
it's about power, the ability to control people and force them to recognise your superiority, and to change the world to whatever you see fit. the goals of people who already have everything they and their grandchildren could ever possibly want likely won't make a whole lot of sense to ordinary people
