No, they just need to play more video games and watch youtube. I never paid attention in school because they don't teach you anything useful. If you are smart all you take away is what you need to do it yourself and then you don't have to rely on anyone else to gain an education, you can educate yourself.

Actually i was straight edge and didn't even smoke my first marijuana cigarette until I was well into my 16 years of age. Drugs help teach you things too, only stupid people think drugs make you stupid. Smart people can take any kind of drug be it alcohol, tobacco, cannabis or LSD and use the altered frame of mind to think of new ideas and concepts.
Lots of musicians use psychoactive substances and so do a large portion of the most intelligent academics. People like Elon Musk and Bill Gates are no strangers to taking things like mushrooms or cannabis.
