What's for Dinner?

  1. I'd mostly be going by myself but I already told him I'm "rusty" on sea fishing in Tejas (having done 99.9% of my sea fishing back home in England). He said he'd come along and "give me some tips"
  2. clench hard
  3. He already gave me a good tip by pointing me to braided line vs monofilament.
  4. Vinny, do you do much fishing? tell us about it.

I think I’m gonna eat heavy meals before bed more often because I don’t feel like death for once today.

Yeah you can drive on the beach...though depending on the time of year you have to be careful. Last time I went I was about to go on the beach and a guy flagged me down and said "don't go on the beach in your car, you'll get stuck, it's very dry sand"

I parked up instead and walked on...then spend a few hours watching as a smart dude in a big truck, with those balloon type tires charged people in Sedans $150 a pop to tow them off the beach after they got stuck, guy must have made thousands that day.

All you have to do is slack your tires down to about 14 to 16 PSI. Hatteras Island is a real fine sugar sand. When I lived there in the early 80s I had a 78 Subura wagon 4x4. Just all season radials and if I slacked the tires I could drive the beach around practically the entire island. Tourist would come down with lifted 4x4 trucks from up north with huge murders for tires. They would just dig into that dry sugar sand almost like it was water and get buried to the axel. As long as I stayed out of their tracks I just floated right past them like I was on a magic carpet.
  20. Think I'm gonna go by the FountainView fish market again on the way home for the 4 piece fried fish with coleslaw.
