"I wear a mask for others, not for myself."
That seems to be the common theme.
Potentially saving lives by wearing a mask.
So I was thinking, with that logic, would it be fair to ask of these people to discontinue driving a motor vehicle as well, in order to save lives?
There are over 30,000 fatal car accidents in the U.S. each year, but we could drastically reduce that if we all just agreed to walk, bike, etc. Sure were giving up the convenience of driving but we're also saving tens of thousands of lives a year- tens of thousands of families having to go through that heartache and pain.
Is that a fair comparison?
Obviously we've gone through most of history without motor vehicles so they certainly arent essential. So where and how do we draw the line between convenience and the overall wellbeing of others?
