I hate Windows, the OS not the transparent pieces of silica you use to look outside. However since Micrococks has like 60% market saturation with all things computer related i have to deal with them and their bullshit. Now don't get me wrong, .NET and .NET Core are great language suites, especially the cross compatible Core set. PowerShell i can appreciate too, mostly because it lives up to it's name. It's an excellent shell scripting language.
I have a laptop dedicated to all things Windows because i kind of have to if i want to have a balanced skill set, with regards to information security and programming. While Visual Studio is a great IDE in a lot of ways, it also sucks in others. For instance just the other day i was trying to compile C++ source to DLL for nefarious purposes, but it wouldn't let me because it told me my dependencies (.h files and the like) weren't of the kind that are mitigated for the Spectre CPU flaw, that's common in some architectures. So i was like alright, fine, i will download your stupid update even though i already have to allocate well into the 50gigs rate for all my Windows SDKs, WDKs, dependencies, package builder, and other such bullshit just to be able to use Windows as a programming platform to begin with. So i did the update, tried to compile again, but for some reason i get the same fucking error message.
First of all i don't give a shit about Spectre, the DLL was specfically designed to ruin someone's day. Why the fuck would i care about Spectre? Second of all i go into the directory that's an absolute cluster fuck from all of the XML configs and whatnot that Visual Studio needs in order to compile something. I find the relevant one, comment out the section pertaining to Spectre, go through the whole rigamarole again, only to get another error. Not only that, now Windows Defender is saying they are going to quarantine my source file, because it appears to be malicious, yeah no shit. Signing up to get Dotfuscator to get around that at compile time is a whole new level of needlessly long convoluted bullshit and i was going to run a crypter after compilation anyway. So fuck you Microsoft and everything you stand for. I can't even properly get NT Authority\System without Windows throwing a fucking fit.
I guess my main gripe is that Windows deems it necessary to babysit me, even though i own a license to their fucking product. If i want to do stupid/dangerous/reckless shit on my own property, just fucking let me. To top it all off, Micrococks collects telemetry on everything that you do. And short of putting a Faraday cage around your computer you have to go to EXTRAORDINARY lengths to get around it and then they have the fucking nerve to charge me upwards of 150 bucks for the privilege of using their fucking bullshit.
Now that i got that out of my system let m get back to trying to cope, unfortunately i can't just ignore everything Microsoft and Windows related, because i would be missing out on over 50% of all the knowledge i aspire to attain
