    It certainly was not easy.
    
    It took like a dozen failed attempts, and then ultimately just powering through the withdrawals (taking benzos and other shit just to cope).
    
    I even ended up in the psych ward at one point because I was about to kill myself rather than face a life without opiates.

    Now that you are clean do you think you still experience the same feelings as before you were on the drugs or did they permanently fuck your brain up?

    For the first few months, I had a hard time simply enjoying anything in life.
    
    But, eventually you go back to enjoying things the way you did before.
    
    Or at least something akin to what it was like before.
    
    I basically just ended up retransitioning back into alcoholism.
    
    I was an alcoholic before opiates, and went back to that after.
    
    But a high functioning alcoholic though. I generally just drink at night before bed.
    
    Opiates were an all-the-time kind of thing.

    I used to inject tek and h. but I never did anything fucked up like junky shit like steal from people. its actually been over 2 years since I've done any heroin. In summer 2018 I overdosed 4 times. Twice on meth because I was skitzing out so hard. I don't like cops but this one cop got to know me, for being a cop he was actually pretty cool to me. I'm pretty sure he knew what was up but let me off easy. I called my parents telling them how I was being gang stalked and lol my dad totally fucking called the cops and how I met the guy, he told me to go get my keys and feed my cat because he was driving me to the hospital.
    
    I got there and It was really fucked up i was flipping out really bad on tek (realized its not my thing) cuz I'm already bipolar and they held me for 3 days in a psyche ward, oddly enough my doctor there was my doctor from when I was a kid, and I was telling him, i'm not crazy like these other goons, I'm just depressed using a lot drugs and I need to go back to work.
    
    Then after that, I got some more tek, and i was doing it but when morning came around I started freaking out and needed some brews, I ent up going for a walk and called my friend to pick me up so I could go drink with him and chill out but on the way to the store where I was going to meet him I was severely paranoids and I ate the entire of tek I had and I'd never been so high in my entire life I thought I was going to die. Ent up going to a golf course because I was hearing woofy, the drug dog that wanted din din on my nuts so I climbed up on the maintenances shack and my foot with through the sheet metal lol.. and the maintenenace guy came out and was like whats wrong buddy?! and I just curled up into a ball basically having a nervous break down, a psychotic one.. because I was hearing voices from the cops saying their going to kill me if I move. The real cops came.. and I climbed down and they were asking me who i was and whats wrong. I gave them a fake name, but they totally just took my wallet from me and took me to the hospital.
    
    So I'm at the hospital and all these nurses and doctors and cops cornered me in a room, and I was getting really nervuos, so I shoved the skinny male nurse out of the way, knocking him on the ground but some cop tackled me and they were going to give me risperadol, because I told them I'm bipolar because I didn't want to admit to using tek. And asked for some ativivan. Ent up falling asleep and they let me out at 1 in the morning and I felt better but I still wasn't right in the head. I ent up driving to this girls house to go sleep with her because I didn't want to be at my place.
    
    But besides that I overdosed twice on heroin, to the point where I woke up with narcan tubes up my nose in the wambulance. One of the days was on my birthday and the wambulance lady was like what did you take? And I just told her nothing. I ent up getting a taxi back to this girls place who I hooked up with the h guy.. and she's a total piece of shit, I had to go back to her place because my car and laptop where there. And she broke my sternum from giving me cpr and I just felt like shit. And she started asking me to bang her, but I told her no and she started screaming at me in an opiate rage sayin she wish that I had died.
    
    I haven't done any drugs in quite sometime, last time was a year ago, not those ones anyways. A couple months ago I did some coke and some weird kinda research chemical. But that was it.
    
    Drinking has caused me a lot more problems though.

    Some people just stop. Some people don't. One of my neighbors has been on suboxone for years and still will shoot dope, but we don't really hang out anymore.

    I do sometimes wake up hungover.
    
    Sometimes I'll even drink through the hangover.
    
    But most mornings I wake up either just fine, or at least tolerably uncomfortable for the first half hour or so.

    that sucks man i hope you decide to quit. I cant imagine going to work would be much of a treat hung over either
