I have experience with watching little shits fall apart under real pressure.

I’ve been under real pressure before. I’ve obviously never been in a gunfight because I live in civilization not kandahar. But I’ve been in more regular fights than I can count where my life was threatened, 2 of which a knife got pulled on me, one where I actually got stabbed. You think when I saw that blade come out I even batted an eye? I still whooped their ass both times. I stopped experiencing fear along with most emotions a long time ago. Im dead inside

Many legal guns in Canada are banned in the USA. Not even allowed to bring them for shooting competitions. Whoop de doo. Tonnes of people in Canada have fully automatic firearms which have been grandfathered from the 90s gun laws as well. I can also order a gun straight to my door. I can walk into a gun store and out with 5 guns and 10 crates of ammo, just flash my license. There is no limit to how many guns you can own in Canada either. Also with your regular PAL, you can legally buy a 17 pounder AT gun or a howitzer. The difference to the US, in the US you're allowed to stockpile for self defence. In Canada, stock piles must be for personal collections.

US background check system is stupid and expensive. You should just have a license which doubles as your background check. That's all the Canadian gun license is. Can also use the Canadian gun license to prove to employers that your criminal record is clean.

With that said, potential new firearms laws in Canada may ban many, if not all, semi automatics. Seems the US is under this threat too. Canada has more of less the same gun culture as the USA, it has been a necessity for the development of our nation.

Look at how we only are allowed double barrel shotguns here,

Are you sure about that? I’m reading that fully automatic weapons have been banned since the 1977 Bill C-51.

Cuz we have that too except our ban was (I believe) in the 80’s. So we can own any automatic weapon made up til that point just need to pay a fee and stuff

Sorry, yes seems so. Stricter laws were enacted in 1991 which meant fully automatic firearms had to be restricted to a gun club. Which the police would have to authorize you for. They no longer give out these authorizations, meaning all grandfathered fully automatic firearms are now safe queens. Prior to 91 you could seemingly hunt with your full auto AK47. If you acquired this AK47 before 77.

So what you’re saying is in the US we actually can own better and more modern weapons than you and they’re easier to get

Depends on the state. I can buy a .50 BMG rifle for deer hunting. Californians can't. Both countries require a criminal background check. In the US you seem to have to do this every time you wish to purchase a rifle and ammo. In Canada, you do this once, get a license, and that's it. The license serves no other purpose than a criminal background check and reference check. There's no doctors involved or mental health certification. That is confidential information between you and your doctor and cannot be divulged to authorities. If you're allowed a gun in Canada, you're allowed a gun in the US. And vice versa. We have the same requirements for ownership.

Good thing I don’t live in Commie-fornia. I can also walk into a store and buy 20 semi-automatic rifles with standard capacity or extended magazines and 20 handguns. There is no limit. The background check takes less than 5 minutes and in my experience it’s free. I don’t know of any place that charges for that. No background check required for ammo, not sure where you heard that. Maybe they do that in CA or NY or some bullshit. Most states don’t have that. Also never heard of having to undergo a mental evaluation lol.

And even though I’m not willing to jump through all the hoops to buy a registered full-auto weapon, they could easily be converted with machining tools and materials I have in my garage. NOT THAT I WOULD DO THAT, I use those things for legal purposes, but it could be done easily if there was no rule of law.

Honestly full-auto is way over-rated anyway, people I know who served say they almost always had their weapon set to semi-auto unless they were laying down covering fire or whatever.

The background check is expensive in terms of taxpayer money is what I meant. Also it takes the store time to call and process. The cost is ultimately on the customer and the tax payer. In Canada, you show your license, you get the gun. Just like showing ID when going to the liquor store.

none of these mattered when tactically dressed men in tactically armored vehicles come to your house and tell you to get bent, curled like a bitch and say please.
