   He told me a few weeks prior that he would never go to prison again. He was clearly high as fuck when it all went down. Idk. I dont blame him but I wish obviously he would have taken a different path.
   
   I was in treatment with him and we were good friends but once we got out he clearly went back to meth life and yah..

   I avoid them. Once when a close friend died and I wasn't going to the funeral another friend asked "why are you not going" and I said "Funerals are not my thing"...to which he replied "Yeah I don't think they are anyone's thing"

   Yes it's another one of those social obligations rather than serving an actual purpose, at least for those of us who question the whole life after death and god thing.
   
   Burying (or BBQing) a large slab of meet shouldn't require dressing up in a fancy black suit and taking a 1/2 day off. You don't need to display your sadness at the loss to others to feel the loss.
