SWIM wouldn't know anything about that
But other SWIM told me that they don't even ask for your tax returns if you don't wish to give them over, you can also just send them a couple paystubs or ask for a form you can sign promising that your annual income you gave to them is truly what you make. There are ways to explain yourself out of these things, you just need to think on your feet a little. SWIM has gotten out of paying tens of thousands of dollars this past year over dozens of hours in phone calls doing just that, and it's not over yet, and it's been eating him alive tbqh fam. Thankfully the end to these problems seems to be pretty close here though.
It's not like he's even trying to be greedy, he's really not, he's just trying to correct the retarded situations the government has imposed on him without his consent, such as barring him from using obammercare because "his mom gets private coverage therefor he MUST by law use her healthcare instead yet he can't remove himself from the policy, SHE has to do that." And what if SWIM wasn't on speaking terms with his mother, huh? IDIOTAS!
Her coverage is effectively worthless with a something-thousand dollar deductible and no prescription coverage at all, even after the deductible is met. SWIM survived on goodrx for years.

I dunno, I'm not for single payer because it's not economically viable and may fuck up the industries, but I am for expanding consumer protective regulations such as allowing anyone to go on the obammercare plans under any circumstances (at full cost if necessary) in case their employer offers only shit coverage like so many do, mine included. This would force insurers to quit gouging people because then they'd just go on the full priced obammercare with better coverage, and if not that then we need employers to offer at least one plan with a low ($300-500 or less) deductible) at a reasonable rate because this is ridiculous.
I'm for more subsidies under an obammercare system because working class and lower middle class and people who don't save money, which is like what, half or more? can't afford to meet their deductibles or pay the premiums for the (even still shitty) "cadillac plans" that often don't even exist anymore if you work in the private sector.
I'm fairly economically conservative, but USA has by far the most expensive healthcare in the world, yet is one of the only developed nations without government insured healthcare despite also being the richest country on Earth. Not that that's inherently a bad thing, I actually like the combination of public and private health insurances to avoid massive new debt, but people have to be able to get on a plan that works for them if they're going to be forced to buy health insurance from their employer but the plans are all worthless.

Maybe we wouldn't need to subsidize it more if our healthcare costs and insurances were reasonable and competitive compared to the rest of the world, but that is not the case. The reason for this is because our healthcare industry is not a free market, it's the opposite. The consumer has absolutely no freedom to choose the healthcare products and services they would like to purchase, y'know, like in a free market. You may buy the ONE drug(s) your Dr. says you may buy, or you may buy nothing. You don't get to go around the doctor even if he prescribes a $500 a month drug instead of an equally good $5 a month drug. He doesn't know what the drugs cost and he doesn't care, because he doesn't prescribe what is the best value, he prescribes what he thinks is medically optimal, which is what big pharma tells him it is, which is likely the "latest and greatest" drug, slightly different than the last, with a 15 year patent that costs $500 a month because it has no competition because the consumer cannot opt to buy the $5 drug because if they could everybody would do that and the new drug maker would have to lower their price in order to compete and not go out of business. Y'know, like how the rest of the free market works? There's a reason Tylenol did not cost the equivalent of $500 a month when it first came out, because everyone would have kept buying aspirin because they have freedom to choose whichever OTC drugs they wish.
