    Not sure which way is best for Bass

    you're asking candy rein something she doesn't know about.. but yeah tabs are easier in my opinion, but thats a personal preference really. Tabs you still have to know the song to be able to play it while with sheet music you never have to listen to the song to be able to play it correctly.

    like notice how the "tabs" don't have the four four beat signature? tabs are obviously more stripped down.

    I notice that was the part that would confuse someone reading it. No Time scale signatures or half, whole, quarter, sustain=etc note?. I wonder if there is a way to write one in

    But when I played synths years back I had to do it by ear as well.

    i find tabs are even easier and more intuitive to read if they;re mirrowed, ie, instead of facing you the tabs are facing where you face.
