   Conservatism is the stagnation of society. Historically, Liberal values have always prevailed. If the conservatives had their way, Europe would still be owned by the Catholic Church, the middle east would be under sharia law, China would be run by dynasties. Child marriage would be legal. There would be no voting. No religious freedom. Most people would not be able to own the land, but would be serfs instead. Women could not work or do anything. Slavery would be legal. Cars would be illegal. There would be witch hunts. Antibiotics, vaccines, and modern medicine in general would be illegal. Men would be forced to go to war, or their families and villages would be slaughtered. Computers would never have been adopted. Everyone would be illiterate.
