2019-07-06 at 5 AM UTCIllegal aliens aren't prosecuted for drug smuggling. That's why they don't show up in the convictions. Instead of prosecuting them for murder, drugs, what-have-you, they sentence them to deportation. Problem is, they don't deport them, but simply release them back into the wild, so they can go right back to what they were doing.

Basically this. They do deport them. To the nearest major city. Which is close as fuck to the border. -

They say they don't have any more room in the jails, so they just let them go without prosecuting them and issue them a summons to come to immigration court, but they never show up.. -

a wall will only really help stem the tide of illegal immigration by making border patrol's job easier and less costly, everything else (crime, drug smuggling etc.) is largely just lip service to drum up support. -

that's only for general illegal immigrants, not people accused of or suspected of serious crimes -

There's ton of examples of illegal aliens having being apprehended for murder, and it then been found out the murderer had already been processed and released several times, or deported and came back several times, after committing major crimes, such as rape, robbery, drug running and attempted murder. -

I know, I just like to remind people.
The VAST majority of people come into the US legally anyway. Literally everyone I know who came here illegally has done this. You overstay your visa then apply for a green card, wait 5 years, then you can become a citizen and you'll probably get it. Far easier and quicker than waiting to be accepted. It can take years to get in legally and if you don't have an education you probably wont be accepted.
If people really want to stop illegal immigration they should focus on this instead. Walls couldn't even stop the mongols. -

There were 10.5 million unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. in 2017. 1,072,000 more are expected to enter the country illegally in 2019 alone. -

Lol no. They are entering legally. Illegal entry is automatic grounds for green card refusal.
Visa is usually 6mo, which is the minimum requirement to work here before you qualify for a green card. -

not really.
walls serve more than just as human proof barriers, they also have symbolic meanings.
like, do you really believe they broke down the berlin wall just to get thru to the other side ?
nein.
they break it down to symbolize the opposite of having a wall.
and the opposite of having a wall is a standing statue of lady liberty. it means wellcome ye all.
and trumps wall will serve the same function as picket fences; it tells migrants and criminals in unmistakeable, and a resouding
NO.
for without walls, borders are mere philosophical suggestions, a something to be dealt with by old men in robes. -
