   it's pretty selfish but i think it's inevitable that we will eventually overcome the need for our biological urges to fuck and kill and ascend to a higher level of existence, or we will all die from some catastrophic event first. and it's not fair that other people will get to experience that at the expense of my suffering. so i hope they never exist.

    you might think so, but even the largest nuclear weapons have a very small footprint when compared to the expanse of human civilisation. The explosions alone couldn't kill everyone (you'd need one bomb every few hundred square kilometres) and radioactive material dispersal is extremely inconsistent, especially if people retreat underground, in caves or in the mountains. It's also slow-acting, killing after years or just wreaking havoc on the body and DNA, unless you're close enough to get physically dusted with Cesium or something
