Choosing an oscilloscope

    For power & light diagnostic use. Fluke would seem to make good sturdy equipment for this purpose but it's out of budget. At the moment I need to measure inrush current on some chink LED lighting to spec out contactors. My fluke 381 DMM has an INRUSH setting but the mocked-up lighting load seems not to be enough to trigger the capture which makes me think a scope might be the way to go.

    I dunno what sample rate and bandwidth specs I want, I foresee using this to look at voltage and current profiles on motor and lighting loads. Never used a scope before, would this do what I want?
