I'm currently going through a book called "Trailside botany of the upper midwest" and I'm drawing all of the leaves and stuff so that I can remember them next time I go hiking.

Reading THE SEARCH FOR MODERN CHINA and John Locke's second treatise. It's been a pretty heavy week of reading. This is the first philosophy thing I have ever willingly read.

I'm re-reading the original, uncut version of "Off Season", by Jack Ketchum. It's about a family of cannibals who live in the woods and drop down on people and chain them up and then eat them and stuff. Some of the events in it are so graphic and descriptive it blows the mind. In the edited version, they've cut out and deleted and edited all the really good parts.
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

I have always wanted to read that. Is it any good besides being a gore fest?

The first half basically really builds up your relationship with the characters, and then the second half has you turning pages with action-packed circumstances and scenes beyond belief. The scenes are painted so well and so vividly, it turns your blood to ice. That's why the publisher censured the book, and forced the author to change the actual ending of the story. To this day, nobody but the author knows the actual ending of the story, because it's too horrific for the average person.
