One of my first best friends as a kid was a Jamaican, but he was a white Jamaican, born in Jamaica. His name was Mike. Still had the dreadlocks and all that bling, but talked more like a white guy than a Jamaican, although he could talk with a full Jamaican accent, too, if he wanted to. One day, he handed me this hand-drawn map, and it had this red X on it, He then explained that this was the location of a friend of his who lived in a hut in the wild in Jamaica, far away from any human habitation. He informed me that this friend of his had a huge cauldron that he used to make Gumball hash. Reportedly, that's what this man did all day every day, make Gumball hash. Mike then gave me permission to go to his friend's hut and ask for as much Gumball hash as I liked, and I didn't have to pay for it at all, maybe just give him a few dollars as a kindness. The map outlined the exact route I would take from the airport to the hut. I thanked him and pocketed the map, but I didn't take him up on his offer. Mike is dead now, but I still have the map.
